VehicleWaterPlaning
Since 0.7
Planing: hydrodynamic lift on the hull's bottom rising with speed, so a fast hull rises out of the water and the water's drag on it (the buoyancy drag, which acts on the submerged hull) falls.
Fields
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
position | Vec3 | no | Where the lift acts, on the hull's bottom, in the body's local space, metres before scale. Absent: the middle of the chassis collider's bottom face. | ||
lift | number | yes | Lift per (m/s)² of forward speed through the water once fully planing, N·s²/m², 0 or more. | ||
minSpeed | number | no | 3 | Speed through the water in METRES PER SECOND where planing starts, 0 or more. Defaults to 3. | |
fullSpeed | number | no | 9 | Speed through the water in METRES PER SECOND where planing is complete, above minSpeed. Defaults to 9. | |
maxLift | number | no | 0 | The most lift, as a fraction of the vehicle's weight, 0..2. Defaults to 0.6. | |
size | number | no | 0 | Height of its wet band, metres, greater than zero. Defaults to 0.3. |
